La clásica formación del Live Through This de Hole se reunió anoche para tocar por primera vez juntos en más de 16 años: Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Melissa auf der Maur y Patty Schemel.  Schemel dejó la banda durante la realización del Celebrity Skin, que pasó a convertirse en un gran éxito.  Hole tocó su último show en julio de 1999, y una década más tarde Courtney Love revivió el nombre de Hole.

The classic (technically not original) Live Through This lineup of Hole reunited last night to perform for the first time together in over 16 years: Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Melissa auf der Maur, and Patty Schemel.  Schemel left the band during the making of Celebrity Skin, which went on to become a major hit.  Hole played their final show in July 1999, and a decade later Courtney Love revived the Hole name.

“[Kurt and Courtney, el documental] fue hecha por alguien que no es o era una persona consciente. Esa película fue hecha de una manera sensacionalista y no fui entrevistado para ella. Lo mismo con los libros, e incluso con biografías sancionadas, nunca me entrevistaron. Nunca tienen la historia completa. Nunca han acudido a mi. Y no he hablado de nada de eso a la prensa.

“Hay está el lado “animado”de [Courtney Love] que es intimidante, pero profundo en su interior, es un gatito poco dulce. Pude ver todas esas cosas por suerte cuando quedábamos. Llegué a ver un montón de ese lado de ella que ya la gente no conoce”

Here are two quotes from LA Weekly‘s new interview with former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson about his new book Letters to Kurt:

“[Kurt and Courtney, the documentary] was made by somebody that is not a conscious person, or was not conscious when he made it. That movie was made in a tabloid manner, and I wasn’t interviewed for it. Same with the books, even sanctioned biographies, they never interviewed me. They never have the full story. They’ve never reached out to me. And I have not talked about any of that to the press.”

“There’s that cartoon side of [Courtney Love] that is intimidating, but deep down inside there is a sweet little kitten. I got to see that, I was lucky enough to see that when we dated. I got to see a lot of that side of her that people don’t know anymore.”

La cantante de The Pretty Reckless, Taylor Momsen, realizó recientemente una entrevista con Perez Hilton en PerezHilton.com donde ella habló un poco de Grunge.

Cuando se le preguntó acerca de su inspiración: “mi padre tiene una colección de grabaciones masiva. Así que crecí escuchando vinilos, conozco a todos los clásicos, Beatles, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, ya sabes,  AC/DC, Soundgarden, Nirvana. Crecí con todo eso”.

Cuando se le preguntó si a ella le preocupaba si a Courtney Love le gustaba su música: ” no realmente, si le gusta está bien, y si no le gusta también bien. “

The Pretty Reckless lead singer Taylor Momsen recently did an interview with Perez Hilton on PerezHilton.com where she talked a bit about Grunge.

When asked about her inspiration: ”My dad has a massive record collection. So I grew up listening to vinyl, you know all the classics, Beatles, Zeppelin, Who, Pink Floyd, you know AC/DC, Soundgarden, Nirvana. So I just, I kind of grew up with it, and it just stuck.”

When asked if she cares if Courtney Love likes her record: ““Not really, if she likes it that’s cool if she doesn’t that’s cool too.”

Courtney Love trashed Momsen back in 2009 when she was 16 years old, saying she was ripping her off.

El 13 de abril se pondrá a la venta en iTunes el documental centrado en la figura de Patty Schemel, quien fuese batería de Hole desde 1992 a 1998 y que se estrenó el pasado año logrando reunir para un posterior coloquio a la formación más estable del grupo (Courtney Love, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Eric Erlandson y Patty Schemel).

En el trailer -que está disponible aquí y podéis ver a continuación- podemos oír algunas perlas de Courtney Love que merecen ser destacadas. “Kurt (Cobain) solía estar con nosotros porque odiaba a su banda. De verdad, odiaba a esos tíos. Eran realmente malos con él,” comenta en relación a Krist Novoselic y Dave Grohl.

Aparece también hablando con su hija Frances Bean, a muy temprana edad: “Estábamos preocupados por Papi, pensábamos que estaba muerto.”

Otra ya más habitual de Love: “Estaba hasta arriba de droga, no recuerdo demasiado.”

También se destaca una frase de Cobain, bromeando sobre su muerte: “Iré a por tabaco y no volveré jamás.”

The trailer for the new Hole/Patty Schemel documentary ‘Hit So Hard’ is now available on iTunes. There is a lot of juicy stuff in the trailer.  The film will be in theaters (limited) and on iTunes on April 13th.  Here are some quotes from the trailer

Eric Erlandson, Melissa auf der Maur y Patty Schemel se reunrán para una actuación en Hudson, Nueva York, en la Basílica de Hudson el 8 de abril de 2012 (domingo de Pascua). Esto es las 3/4 de la alineación clásica de Hole, Courtney Love no estarán presente. Eric Erlandson hará una lectura de su nuevo libro ‘Letters to Kurt’ a las 6 PM y también habrá una proyección del documental de Patty Schemel “Hit So Hard”.

En una nueva entrevista con el reportero de Hollywood acerca de su próximo libro “Letters to Kurt”, el guitarrista de Hole, Eric Erlandson, dijo que  Courtney Love llegó intentó convencerle para hacer música juntos, pero las cosas no funcionaron.  La clásica alineación de Hole, Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Melissa auf der Maur y Patty Schemel brevemente se reunieron para un Q&S en el estreno de la película de Schemel Hit So Hard del año pasado.  Desde 2009 Courtney ha ido de gira y ha lanzado música bajo el nombre de Hole con una nueva formación:

Erlandson dijo que no habló con Love sobre el libro; antiguos compañeros se enfrentaron por el control de Hole tras la ruptura de 2002 del grupo. No fue incluido en el álbum de 2010 de Hole, Nobody’s Daughter, aunque Love  le pidió hacer música juntos nuevamente.

Pero Erlandson no lo sentía, diciendo: “Sentí que no hubo ninguna transformación en nuestra relación en absoluto”. Él está en buenos términos con sus ex compañeras de Hole Patty Schemel y Melissa Auf der Maur.

In a new interview with the Hollywood Reporter about his upcoming book Letters to Kurt, former Hole guitarist Eric Erlandson said Courtney Love reached out to him to make new music together, but things didn’t work out.  The classic Hole 90′s lineup of Courtney Love, Eric Erlandson, Melissa auf der Maur, and Patty Schemel briefly reunited for a Q&A at the premiere of Schemel’s film Hit So Hard last year.  Since 2009 Courtney has been touring and releasing music under the Hole name with a new lineup:

Erlandson said he hasn’t talked to Love about the book; the former colleagues clashed over control of Hole after the group’s 2002 breakup. He was not included in Hole’s 2010 album, Nobody’s Daughter, though Love has since asked him to make music together again.

But Erlandson wasn’t feeling it, saying, “I felt like there was no transformation in our relationship at all.” He’s on good terms with former Hole bandmates Patty Schemel and Melissa Auf der Maur.
