La Melvan no ha podido ser vendida por segunda vez en eBay. Esta vez la subasta empezó en $50.000 y no tenía ninguna reserva, pero no consiguió llegar a la puja. Al parecer la primera vez el postor superior que hizo una oferta fue de $99.000 pero tubo que rechazarla debido a la existencia de una reserva, así que el pago nunca se hizo afectivo a pesar de que el chico verdaderamente quería comprarla.

The Melvan has failed to sell for a second time on eBay. This time the auction started at $50,000 and didn’t have a reserve, but it didn’t get one bid. Apparently the first time around the top bidder bid $99,000 but there was miscommunication due to there being a reserve, so the payment never went through even though the guy intended on buying it.

Al final parece ser que nadie ha conseguido llevarse a la Melvan, la famosa furgoneta con la cual giraron los Melvins y que contiene dibujos de Kurt Cobain. La cifra máxima que se llegó a ofrecer era $99,000 … pero el dueño de la furgoneta la quería vender por 150.000 – 190.000 dólares, y nadie llegó a esa extrema cifra

the auction ended last night with the top bid being at $99,000, and reserve not being met (the guy wouldn’t sell it for less than high 150-190 grand apparently).  The van features some Kurt Cobain drawings.

Recuerdo a la Mel-van . Incluso en los años 80 tuvo problemas mecánicos. La gasolina estaba por aquel entonces  como 99 ¢ entonces así tener un  pobre mpg no está tan mal.

I remember the Mel-Van. It had mechanical problems even in the ’80s. Gas was like 99¢ back then so having poor mpg not so bad.

Greg Prato ha subido un nuevo artículo en la revista Rolling Stone sobre la furgoneta de los Melvins que está siendo subastado en eBay. El vendedor quiere venderla por 135.000 $-$ 150, 000.

Después de que Berg obtuviese la furgoneta, descubrió que también tenía una conexión con Nirvana. “No tenía ni idea que Kurt estuvo incluso asociado con la furgoneta hasta mucho después de que ella estuviese en mi posesión. Me dijeron que el mural de Kiss fue dibujado por Kurt Cobain y lo hizo en los marcadores Sharpie que él cogío. También me dijeron que solía conducir a los Melvins alrededor de sus shows en el área.”

Greg Prato has up a new article on Rolling Stone about the Melvins’ van that’s being auctioned on eBay.  The seller wants to sell it for $135,000-$150,000.  That seems absolutely ridiculous to me in this economy:

After Berg obtained the van, he discovered that it also had a connection to Nirvana. “I had no idea that Kurt was even affiliated with that van until well after it was in my possession. I was told that the Kiss mural was drawn by Kurt Cobain and it was done in Sharpie markers that he shoplifted. I was also told that he used to drive the Melvins around to their shows in the area.”

Also, there is a chance that there is another Cobain-connection to the Melvan. “I think Kurt’s name is carved somewhere in the van, as well. I don’t know the exact location. I know that Krist Novoselic’s name is carved in there. Dale Crover’s name from the Melvins is carved in there.”
