El 3 de abril Candlebox regresan con un nuevo disco titulado “Love Stories And Other Musings” que presentan con un primer single titulado “Believe In It”.

El frontman Kevin Martin ha hablado con Loudwire acerca de la creación del tema: “Cuando estábamos en el proceso creativo de la canción, juro por dios que era el único que lo oía, pero hay un elemento de Jackson 5 en el ritmo de esa canción y no sé de donde vino o porque mis oídos lo pillaron.”

“La belleza de la música es que permite a tu mente ir a donde sea y es cuando empezó a darme vueltas lo de Jackson 5. Estaba viendo vídeos de Michael Jackson cantando ‘A,B,C’ cuando él tenía 7 u 8 años y lo emocionante que para él era ser músico y que toda la familia tuviese tanto talento.”

Esas sensaciones ayudarían a dar forma al tema, cuya letra se convirtió en un tributo y una carta abierta a su hijo pequeño. “De inmediato empecé a pensar en mi hijo y pensando qué iba a dejarle, qué iba a dejarle como padre. Si hay una cosa que quiero que sepa es que siempre estaré ahí para apoyarle en cualquier decisión, cualquier dirección o camino que tome en su vida. Quiero llevarle más allá, quiero ayudarle a llegar ahí.”

Reconoce Martin que “si hay algo en el mundo que necesitamos es amor y paciencia, eso seguro. Podemos sobrevivir sin coches, sin gasolina pero sin amor y paciencia, ¿qué tenemos?”
