Digital Age Nominations

Unafraid of Digital Democracy

The Illinois Green Party is currently conducting it’s presidential primary. What’s exciting, for me at least, is how voters can participate online if they like. I wrote a guest blog for the Ruck.us last week where I shared examples of groups holding nominations outside of state controlled open primaries. The IL Greens are another example of how our democracy is transforming into the digital age.

The Greens will also hold caucuses in conjunction with the online primary. I also find it compelling that IL Green rules allow folks 13 years and older to participate. This piqued my interest as the Grange, a group I’m a member of, allows full membership to 14 year olds. This is a feature of the Grange’s mission to foster civic values.

Thumbs up to the Illinois Green Party for their leadership with inclusive democracy!

Tomó un poco menos de dos años, pero el video  de UNKLE “Another Night Out” con la colaboración con Mark Lanegan,  está finalmente aquí. Dirigida por Toby Dye, el clip sigue la caza de un Premio desde la sala de entrenamiento al ring, culminando con una victoria de gran cobertura.

Stone Gossard nos cuenta como va el nuevo disco

En un nuevo artículo sobre Pearl Jam, el  guitarrista Stone Gossard ayudó en un proyecto para restaurar el bosque nativo en el Parque de Crestwoods de Kirkland, mencionó brevemente cómo estaba Pearl Jam. Gossard dijo que Pearl Jam está planeando una gira por Europa este verano y también está en las etapas formativas de la creación de un nuevo álbum. “No estamos seguros de lo que va a ser todavía,” añadió con una sonrisa fácil.

La frase de Gossard indica que Pearl Jam tardará mucho en hacer su nuevo álbum, que hace que un lanzamiento en 2012 parezca improbable.
