Chris Cornell: "Nunca fui creativo mientras bebía" (Sacado de potalternativo.com)

Como si de un anuncio de McDonald’s se tratara, Chris Cornell ha confesado al programa “120 Minutes” de la MTV2 que si pudiera darle un consejo a su yo de 18 años sería el que no bebiera.


“No bebas. Y lo digo en serio. Para mi eso es lo primero porque nunca compuse, nunca fui creativo mientras bebía, y luego había esos periodos donde no bebía en los que me agarraba a lo que tenía componiendo y grabando, y luego bebiendo mucho y entrar en el estudio con resaca y estar borracho en el estudio y nunca era capaz de hacer nada al nivel o grado que pensaba que debería tener. Estoy orgulloso de todo lo que hice pero creo que fue mucho más difícil de lo que debería haber sido.”


Según cuenta el vocalista de Soundgarden que empezó a experimentar con drogas y alcohol a los 12 años. No fue hasta 2002 en que decidió entrar en rehabilitación. “Tuve que llegar a la conclusión, una especie de humillante conclusión, de que, mira por donde, no soy diferente de nadie, tengo que pedir ayuda - algo que nunca antes había hecho. Y luego, lo segundo es aceptar lo que te venga y, sabes, creerme lo que la gente me dice. Y creer en lo que me han dicho y ver que eso funciona.”

Encore Break 1
{The crowd is chanting when Pearl Jam come back on stage. While Ed is searching through his notes the rest of the guys look at the crowd and gesture at Ed, who has his back to the band. The band gets the crowd chanting “Eddie, Eddie, Eddie”. Ed thanks the crowd and then says something humorous in Portuguese.
Ed then thanks X for playing with Pearl Jam and tells a story about being under age and “the terrible things” he did to get a fake ID so he could see X play in a club. He relates how Exene handed him a beer to hold for her. In between songs she would take the cup back and sip the beer and hand it back for him to hold. Ed claims it was one of the biggest honors of his life}
