Melvins se mantienen ocupados esta primavera.Los principales miembros, Buzz Osborne y Dale Crover, se han asociado con Trevor Dunn de Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk y Fantômas para formar el proyecto “Melvins Lite”. Saldrá un álbum el 5 de junio, llamado Freak Puke a través de grabaciones de ipecacuana.

La alineación completa de Melvins es (Osbourne, Crover, además de grandes nombres como Jared Warren y Coady Willis) también lanzará un EP gratuito el 13 de marzo a través de Scion A V llamado Scion A / V present: The Bulls & the Bees. En apoyo de ambas versiones, Melvins (todos ellos!) planean golpear el camino para el comienzo de gira de U.S. en abril, con apoyo de Unsane. Melvins are keeping busy this spring. Core members Buzz Osborne and Dale Crover have teamed up with Trevor Dunn of Mr. Bungle, Tomahawk, and Fantômas to form the project “Melvins Lite.” They’ll put out an album on June 5 called Freak Puke via Ipecac Recordings.

The full Melvins lineup (Osbourne, Crover, plus Big Business’ Jared Warren and Coady Willis) will also release a free EP on March 13 via Scion A/V called Scion A/V Presents: The Bulls & the Bees. In support of both releases, Melvins (all of them!) plan to hit the road for U.S. tour beginning in April, with Unsane supporting. Dates are after the tracklists, along with “The War on Wisdom” from The Bulls & the Bees.

En 2010 Creed regresaron con gira y nuevo álbum, “Full Circle”, compuesto y grabado en tiempo récord. Ahora ya preparan la continuación del irregular disco.

“Pasamos entre tres a cuatro semanas ensayando y componiendo nuevo material,” ha dado a conocer el vocalista Scott Stapp a Rolling Stone. “Tenemos la sensación de que cinco (canciones nuevas) tienen la simetría y continuidad en ellas mismas y aparecerán en el disco. Así que si lo quieres ver desde esa perspectiva, estamos a medio camino.”

El guitarrista Mark Tremonti cuenta que “hay dos que quizá escuches en la radio. Hay una más heavy, energética. Y hay otra que es más tranquila, lenta, en plan ‘Faceless Man’. Es un poco disperso pero estamos contentos con lo que tenemos hasta ahora.”

De acuerdo a Stapp en esta ocasión no correrán. “Podríamos empezar a grabar en marzo y (si eso pasa), por supuesto que tendremos el disco en la calle en verano. Vamos a continuar componiendo hasta que sintamos que tengamos el mejor álbum, el más potente que hayamos hecho. Esa es nuestra meta. Si nos lleva un año hacerlo y el álbum no sale hasta el año que viene, que así sea.”

La banda saldrá de gira en abril para tocar íntegramente sus dos primeros álbumes algo que ha servido a Tremonti para recordarle algunas de las máximas de aquellos inicios. “Te recuerda que no debes complicar las cosas. Nos mantendremos fieles a las grandes melodías que creo que siempre ha sido la esencia de la banda. La verdad es que se está filtrándose en la nueva música.”

2010 Creed returned with tour and new album, “Full Circle”, composed and recorded in record time. Now they already prepare the continuation of the irregular disc.

“Spend between three to four weeks rehearsing and composing new material,” it has become known vocalist Scott Stapp to Rolling Stone. “We have the feeling that five (new songs) have the symmetry and continuity in themselves and will appear on the album.” “So if you want to see from that perspective, we’re halfway.”

Guitarist Mark Tremonti has that “there are two that perhaps you hear on the radio.” There is a more heavy, energy. And there is another more quiet, slow, plan ‘Faceless Man’. “It is a bit scattered but we are happy with what we have so far.”

According to Paul Stapp on this occasion, they will not run. “We could start recording in March and (if that happens), of course that will have the drive on the street in summer.” We are going to continue composing until that we feel that we have the best album, the more powerful we have done. That is our goal. “If it takes us a year do it and the album does not come out until next year, so be.”

The band will be touring in April to fully play their first two albums something that has served to Tremonti to remind some of the maxims of those early. “It reminds you that you must not complicate things.” We will be faithful to the great melodies that I think has always been the essence of the band. “The truth is that it is filtering in the new music.”

We’ll discuss key themes from the new book as it relates to the music industry. The goal will be to put the art of music back to the forefront by ignoring the continual need of the music industry to standardized systems to promote and sell music in an era of constant change.

Billy will also discuss how social media and technology will play a part in the release of their new album Oceania and share his vision for reinventing the album experience overall.

De una entrevista hecha por Under the Radar // Here’s an excerpt from Under the Radar‘s new interview with Mark Lanegan.

Antes de que fueras un artista en solitario tú estuviste en los Screaming Trees. Mira hacia atrás, ¿Cómo fue para ti esa escena en un principio)

Fui como cualquiera,  era un fan de la música y escuchaba lo que había. Disfruté tocando mi propia música y finalmente entré en contacto con algunos chicos que realmente tenían una banda y algo especial salió de allí. Pero definitivamente empezó porque yo era un fan de la música.

Cuéntame desde dentro de la escena, desde el exterior parece una gran subcultura

Una cosa es que nunca me he sentido muy dentro de la comunidad. Tuve algunos amigos cercanos que estaban también en bandas y había un montón de bandas de una ciudad muy pequeña que se hizo muy popular, y eso fue raro. Pero yo estuve en la carretera mucho de ese tiempo, por lo que tampoco hice gran relación con nadie

¿Alguna fuerte amistad?

No,  lo que quiero decir es que tenía amigos que tocaban en bandas y ocasionalmente tocábamos juntos en alguna grabación,  pero es al igual que lo es ahora.

Before you were a solo artist you were in seminal band Screaming Trees. Reflecting back, what drew you to the scene in the beginning?

Well it’s like anybody, I was a fan of music and listening to records. I enjoyed playing my own music and eventually I came into contact with some guys who actually had a band and it sort of went from there. But it definitely started because I was a fan of music.

Tell me about being part of what seems, from the outside, a really tight knit environment and subculture.

Well for one thing I never felt part of a community. I had some close friends who were also in bands and there were a lot of bands from a really small city who became really popular and that was weird. But I was on the road for a lot of that time you know it’s not like everyone got together and barbequed or anything.

Did it ever feel like any of you guys had a shared vision of any kind?

No. I mean like I said I had friends who were in bands and occasionally we would play on each other’s records but it’s just the same as it is now.
