Detalles de la aparición en Portlandia de Eddie Vedder

El Seattle Times tiene un breve resumen del episodio de Portlandia que saldrá el 13 de enero en el cual Eddie Vedder será el invitado.


Como preámbulo de habitantes regulares de Laurelhurst por "Portlandia" la estrella Carrie Brownstein se sienta sobre una manta y tiene un picnic con la estrella invitada Scott Green. En la imagen, los dos son pareja, pero Green tiene un tatuaje que Brownstein simplemente no puede pasar en alto: una  imagen de Eddie Vedder, vocalista de Pearl Jam.


"Portlandia"  con el co-creador Fred Armisen, que está de pie cerca de un monitor de repetición como la escena revela, recuerda, " Nosotros teníamos una sesión de reunión de reflexión y Carrie vino levantando esta idea. A veces los tatuajes son mal hechos o la materia pone en duda mucha materia. ¿Le gusta la persona, pero de repente, su tatuaje le hace decir, ' Espere, de qué va esto? ' "

As Laurelhurst's regular denizens amble by, "Portlandia" star Carrie Brownstein sits on a blanket, having 
a picnic with guest star Scott Green. In the sketch, the two are dating, but Green has a tattoo that Brownstein just can't abide: a cartoonish image of Vedder, Pearl Jam's frontman.
"Portlandia" co-creator Fred Armisen, standing near a playback monitor as the scene unfolds, recalls, 


"We had a brainstorming session and Carrie came up with this idea. Sometimes tattoos are poorly done or the subject matter calls into question a lot of stuff. You like the person, but all of a sudden, their tattoo makes you say, 'Wait, what's that about?' "


After the picnic scene but before moving on to a bike-riding sequence, Brownstein explains her inspiration for the sketch.
"
It's a conversation people have all the time about arbitrary deal-breakers that are actually quite significant in determining if you could actually like someone or imagine a life with someone," she says. "There's something so permanent about a tattoo, and I think specifically with music, Fred and I are such music snobs, we are constantly shocked by the lack of depth of people's knowledge. La influencia 'krautrock' de Mark Lanegan (Portalternativo)

Mark Lanegan ha charlado con la revista Mojo acerca de su nuevo disco, “Blues Funeral”, que editará en febrero, concretamente el día 6.

“Me gusta de verdad,” asegura el ex-frontman de The Screaming Trees. “Y no puedo decir eso de todos los discos que he hecho. Si lo oyera ahora, no meahorcaría avergonzado.”

Cuenta el vocalista que “todos los temas fueron compuestos antes o durante el periodo en que las grabamos. Normalmente tengo un arsenal. Yo sigo trabajando con cintas de cassette y cuando iba a empezar con este disco me metí en mi bolsa de cintas y todas estaban desmagnetizadas. Limpiadas (risas) Así que no tenía nada con lo que empezar.”

Lanegan explica que “estuve escuchando a Harmonia y Cluster y todos los discos de Kraftwerk mientras componía. Hay un director danés, Nicolas Refn (Drive), que hizo la trilogía ‘Pusher’, que me gusta mucho. En la segunda parte hay una pieza musical llamada ‘Sad Disco’ de Keli Hlodversson, que disfruté mucho. Así que cogí prestada esta parte de ‘Sad Disco’ para empezar mi ‘Ode To Sad Disco’.”

La forma de componer ha cambiado algo. “Normalmente compongo a la guitarra pero este empecé con algo de teclados y una batería electrónica, por hacer algo diferente. Con Al (Johannes), le puedo mostrar algo a la guitarra acústica y darle una descripción y en un par de horas está hecha. Traslada mis imaginativos vuelos pero también aporta mucha cosa...”

Mark Lanegan has talked with Mojo magazine about his new album, "Funeral Blues", published in February, specifically the day 6.

"I like really," says the ex-frontman of The Screaming Trees. "And I can't say that of all the drives that I've done." "If you hear it now, not me ahorcaría ashamed."

Has the vocals to "all songs were composed before or during the period in which we recorded them." I usually have an arsenal. I'm still working with cassette tapes, and when I was going to start with this album I got in my bag of tapes and all were desmagnetizadas. "Cleaned (laughs) so I had nothing with which to start."

Lanegan explains that "I was listening to Harmonia and Cluster and all of Kraftwerk albums while he was composing." There is a Danish director, Nicolas Refn (Drive), which made the 'Pusher' trilogy, which I like very much. In the second part there is a piece of music called 'Sad album' of Keli Hlodversson, which I enjoyed. "So caught borrowed this part of 'Sad drive' to begin my Ode To Sad drive."

How to compose anything has changed. "Normally I compose on guitar, but this started with some keyboards and a drum, by doing something different." With (Johannes), you can show something on acoustic guitar and give it a description and in a couple of hours is made. "He moved my imaginative flights but also brings much thing..."

CNN: ¿Cantabas villancicos cuando eras un niño ?

Weiland: Yo solía hacer eso en la escuela secundaria cada año. Yo diría que alrededor del 85% del tiempo, era agradable. Tuve una experiencia traviesa en la escuela secundaria. Éramos juniors y todos teníamos botes de chocolate caliente. Pensamos que sería divertido para traer algunos aguardientes de menta, y una especie de consiguió pasó alrededor. Fuimos llamados a la oficina de Dean el lunes, y nos fuimos expulsados del ensemble mágico. Estábamos en nuestro último año, pero es tipo de arrastre.

CNN: estoy sintiendo un poco de presagio para la rebeldía en su vida posterior.

Weiland: yo realmente era uno de los más suaves, porque tenía padres muy estrictos.

CNN: ¿Fue una infancia idílica?

Weiland: Mi madre y mi padre natural se divorciaron. Fue duro porque sólo llegué a pasar los veranos y las Navidades ocasionales con ellos. Y entonces fue como dejar todo de nuevo. Y entonces mi padre quien me crió — mi padrastro — que tenía a mi hermano, Michael, por lo que no sentí que tenía un padre completo durante mucho tiempo.

Y hay algunas otras cosas que sucedieron cuando era más joven que celebré  durante un largo tiempo, hasta trabajar en terapia. Me enteré que estaba en compañía de, digamos, no a la empresa de extraños. Algo ocurría muy a menudo, que me freaks de mis propios hijos.

Hoy, estamos casi microgestionando a nuestros hijos para protegerlos, porque es una época diferente. Pero de alguna forma, pierdes esa capacidad de aprender cosas de ti, como agarrar un poste de pesca y bajar al lago y  el aprendizaje de la responsabilidad de venir de atrás antes de que sea oscuro y de  noche. A continuación, puedes cenar y tener tus deberes hechos.

CNN: Did you go caroling when you were a kid?

Weiland: I used to do that in high school every year. I’d say about 85% of the time, I was nice. I had a naughty experience in high school. We were juniors and everyone had canisters of hot chocolate. We thought it would be fun to bring along some peppermint schnapps, and it sort of got passed around. We were called into the dean’s office on Monday, and we were kicked out of the magical ensemble. We were back in our senior year, but it was kind of a drag.

CNN: I’m sensing a bit of foreshadowing for the rebelliousness in your later life.

Weiland: I actually was one of the more mellow ones, because I had very strict parents.

CNN: Was it an idyllic childhood?

Weiland: My mom and my natural father were divorced. That was rough because I only got to spend the summers and the occasional Christmas with them. And then it was like leaving all over again. And then my dad who raised me — my stepfather — he had my brother, Michael, so I kind of felt like I didn’t have a complete father for a long time.

And there are some other things that happened when I was younger that I held in for a long time, until working it out in therapy. I found out that I was in the company of — let’s say, not the company of strangers. Something that happens very often, which freaks me out for my own kids.

Today, we almost micromanage our kids to protect them, because it’s a different era. But in some ways, you lose that ability to learn things yourself — like grabbing a fishing pole and going down to the lake and learning the responsibility of coming back before it’s dark and by dinnertime. Then you have dinner and get your homework done.
