Billy Corgan participó en una mesa redonda en el SXSW Festival ayer que tenía como tema el estado de la industria y dejó algunas frases interesantes, leemos en Billboard.
El líder de The Smashing Pumpkins considera que los artistas que salen en estos tiempos “han crecido pensando que el objetivo es hacerse famosos. No ser respetados – no ser peligrosos.” Afirma Corgan que una vez el artista firma su contrato discográfico, “eres la nueva stripper.”
Ya en sus tiempos, la industria no era un modelo agradable. “Sabía que estaba siendo explotado pero era una oferta Faustiana”
Apostilla el músico: “No lo llaméis rock and roll. Yo fui parte de una generación que cambió el mundo – y fue tomado por fantasmas (poseurs).”

“[Artists that break through now] have grown up thinking that being famous is the goal,” he said. “Not to be respected – not to be dangerous.” He compared breakthrough artists to prostitutes, saying, “[once you make that deal] you’re just the fresh stripper.”
“Don’t call it rock and roll,” Corgan said. “I was part of a generation that changed the world – and it was taken over by poseurs.”

Veo que alguien me cita sobre los comentarios de p. Diddy. NO, en ningún momento creo que haya tenido nada que ver con el fin de la música electrónica
De hecho, me gusta mucho Sean y se se puede decir que ayudó mucho a mantener la música(como lo era). Todo queda claro

I see where someone misquoted me on comments on P. Diddy. I DO NOT in anywhere believe he had anything to do with end of music biz.
In fact, I like Sean a lot and you could argue he helped sustain it longer than it would have lasted (as it was). Comments were misquoted

"Oceania" será lanzado en junio
Oceania will be released in June
Billy Corgan ha anunciado que el nuevo disco de los Smashing Pumpkins “Oceanía” será lanzado a principios de junio. El último álbum de las calabazas de larga duración desde Zeitgeist, lanzado 2007. Desde entonces nuevas canciones han sido despachadas para escuchar online y a través del EP como parte del proyecto Teargarden de Kaleidyscope.

Billy Corgan has announced the new Smashing Pumpkins album Oceania will be released in early June. The last full length Pumpkins album Zeitgeist was released in 2007. Since then new songs have been released for free online and via EP’s as part of the Teargarden By Kaleidyscope project.
