Review del concierto de Mudhoney y The Fluid en Denver

Purple Fluid opened to a half-full venue of mostly parent and teenager pairs, camera flashes flooding the scene as the crowd slowly trickled in. The teenage punks held their own, engaging the audience with plenty of rock posing and stage banter. Covers of The Ramones' "Commando" and Tubronegro's "All My Friends Are Dead" rolled the half-hour set along nicely, igniting the show with a nervous energy.
Not long after the Purple Fluid was finished, the Fluid appeared, the pit now teeming with long hairs, flannels and leather jackets, beer-clenching fists high in the air. Lead singer John Robinson sauntered on stage with an open bottle of wine, throwing the band into it's set with arms open wide. He pushed at the crowd with a zealous yell, smiles and screams pushing back as the venue sang with him.
Taking a moment to thank the community that had gathered for Kulwicki and his family, Robinson expressed gratitude for the compassion around their friend's passing, noting that Mudhoney had driven in from Seattle that day to play the tribute show. The memories and experiences shared between fans crowded next to each other at the bar, in line for the bathroom and lining the foot of the stage were all embodied in the Fluid's passionate and fiery precursor to the night's main event.
With a solemn pomp of an entrance, Mudhoney walked out from the Bluebird's modest backstage curtains and immediately set its hour and a half long explosion in motion with "Poisoned Water." Lead singer and guitarist Mark Arm's presence immediately juxtaposed itself, as the lanky and unassuming figure went from shy to maniacal whenever his mouth magnetized with the microphone.
Balanced out by guitarist Steve Turner's jagged movements to one side and bassist Guy Maddison's soft sways on the other, Arm's unmatched energy continued to burst forth and retreat through songs like "Get Into Yours," "Inside Job" and "F.D.K." Just a handful of songs down, and the crowd was in a full-on frenzy, the stage acting as only a minimal barrier between performer and onlooker -- a few hands even managing to hoist bodies into the air before security deftly pulled the feet and heads of crowd surfers down.
Mudhoney's onslaught of fuzzed-out sludge marched on, Arm's virtually black eyes darting upward from behind his pronounced nose and glittering Gretsch. "Sweet Young Thing Ain't Sweet No More" and the omnipotent "Touch Me I'm Sick" felt like reverberating reminders that the band's crafted intelligence had far surpassed any false notions of grunge as an actual phenomenon.

Soon, Arm removed his guitar and mike stand to make room for his signature predatory, body-half-folded-over stance, "The Open Mind" and "Next Time" spitting from his wide grin between jerks and flails. A false start to "Chardonnay" provided a minor comedic interlude, but the band forced itself right back into the sonic assault, Arm's loose cannon style permeating every corner of the venue. Finishing the beautifully drawn out bleed of "Tales Of Terror," Arm turned to the side and squeezed out one last ceremonial hip shake before Mudhoney exited the stage.
A few moments later, the four-piece was back for an encore with another mini-set up its sleeve. "If I Think" and "Here Comes Sickness" reinvigorated Arm's fantastically creepy stage persona, the crowd at his feet now swirling in a full-on aggressive state. Arm then smartly announced that Mudhoney's legendary cover of a "traditional song from Texas" --The Dicks' "Hate The Police" -- was in homage to the band's appreciation for roots music. To end it all, the band came at the crowd with Black Flag's "Fix Me," and the blitzkrieg was over.

the now legendary Dave Grohl - fronted, American supergroup.
Four Fighters can be found playing the most prestigious venues the length and breadth of the UK. Add to that, regular multiple appearances at all of the biggest tribute festivals in the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe and you could argue that this is the world’s ultimate Foo Fighters tribute band!
Four Fighters’ live shows are explosive events and the band go to every effort to reproduce the raw power and dynamics of the original band.
On occasion, Four Fighters are even known to break out the acoustic guitars too and recreate the Foo Fighters’ live acoustic shows.

Hailing from the legendary town of Manchester England, Christopher Wicks and Mick Rossi met at a non-snowy Hollywood Christmas party. Although the two had grown up blocks away from each other and had never met, they soon discovered a mutual passion for fellow Manchester musicians such as The Verve, Oasis and The Doves. Now almost three years later, The Glorious duo will release their debut CD, Stories From A Fractured Youth and showcase the sound and feel of the music that they love.
The Glorious have both had tremendously diverse and successful careers before their auspicious meeting. Christopher Wicks, the lyricist and designer of all things English Laundry, was born a child of the sixties in Manchester, England. In his very early years he found solace by sketching what he remembers to be mainly shirts, shoes and guitars and listening to music at the many legendary Manchester venues. This pre-teen pastime grew and ended up becoming a life-long career designing men’s and women’s apparel.
Fashion and music have collided continuously in Wicks’ life, as he continues to produce products for the John Lennon collection of clothing. He also retains the rights for both Lennon and McCartney lyrics for apparel and has designed lines for the Fender guitar company and the Jimi Hendrix foundation. Christopher Wicks has also co-designed a clothing brand with his friend Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots. Now, the English Laundry founder’s love of poetry and lyrics have given him the impetus to put together a dream team of rock n’ rollers, resulting in The Glorious.
Actor, musician, writer and producer Mick Rossi began his career in Manchester, England, as well. As a teenager he formed the cult British punk band Slaughter And The Dogs who are considered to be one of the founders of the punk rock movement in Britain today. The band have played with the Sex Pistols, The Clash and the Talking Heads amongst others. Rossi has also penned scripts with Gabriel Byrne, Joanne Whalley and Patrick Bergin. Some of his more recent projects are “Played,” “2:22” and his latest film “A Kiss And A Promise” that he wrote with Philip Guzman. Mick plays the leading role of “David Beck” in the film, opposite Natasha Gregson Wagner. “A Kiss And A Promise” was directed by Philip Guzman and produced by Lenny Bitondo and opens theatrically on September 9, 2011.

Hailing from the legendary town of Manchester England, Christopher Wicks and Mick Rossi met at a non-snowy Hollywood Christmas party. Although the two had grown up blocks away from each other and had never met, they soon discovered a mutual passion for fellow Manchester musicians such as The Verve, Oasis and The Doves. Now almost three years later, The Glorious duo will release their debut CD, Stories From A Fractured Youth and showcase the sound and feel of the music that they love.
The Glorious have both had tremendously diverse and successful careers before their auspicious meeting. Christopher Wicks, the lyricist and designer of all things English Laundry, was born a child of the sixties in Manchester, England. In his very early years he found solace by sketching what he remembers to be mainly shirts, shoes and guitars and listening to music at the many legendary Manchester venues. This pre-teen pastime grew and ended up becoming a life-long career designing men’s and women’s apparel.
Fashion and music have collided continuously in Wicks’ life, as he continues to produce products for the John Lennon collection of clothing. He also retains the rights for both Lennon and McCartney lyrics for apparel and has designed lines for the Fender guitar company and the Jimi Hendrix foundation. Christopher Wicks has also co-designed a clothing brand with his friend Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots. Now, the English Laundry founder’s love of poetry and lyrics have given him the impetus to put together a dream team of rock n’ rollers, resulting in The Glorious.

Mick plays the leading role of “David Beck” in the film, opposite Natasha Gregson Wagner. “A Kiss And A Promise” was directed by Philip Guzman and produced by Lenny Bitondo and opens theatrically on September 9, 2011.
Rossi re-visited his musical roots when teaming up with Christopher Wicks and together they have penned the album, Stories From A Fractured Youth. Wicks’ lyrics have proven to be the perfect companion for Rossi’s melodies and riffs. Every lyric on the album tells a story, every riff on the guitar, an infectious melody with a little help from their friends who lent their musical talents to the album including Steve Jones of The Sex Pistols, Billy Duffy of The Cult and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots. Weiland is also the cover boy and design DNA of English Laundry’s Scott Weiland Collection and joins Wicks to sing a duet of the Lennon/McCartney penned song “HELP.” This version was re-composed by Rossi and brings a haunting new sound to the classic and brilliant song.
