El frontman de los Smashing Pumpkins  Billy Corgan apareció en Vinyl Schminyl para una entrevista de una hora. Aquí algunas cosas de la misma

-Habla de Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Rush, Pink Floyd. Dice que  Pink Floyd y The Beatles son sus bandas favoritas ahora mismo en su vida. Pink Floyd es la banda sonora de su “crisis existencial”.  Los Beatles fue la primera banda que escuchó.  “A Day In The Life” y  “Strawbery Fields” son sus dos canciones favoritas de los Beatles

-Dice que dos de sus compañeros en los Smashing Pumpkins originales no eran grandes músicos

-Billy dice que el hecho de que los Pumpkins vengan de Chicago ha sido una bendición. No apreciaba mucho la musicalidad cuando él era joven, pero en los años 90 se fascinó y ahora en sus 40 no les gusta lo que  existe. Billy dijo, “realmente no quiero esperar hasta los 70 para decir que he sido un artista.”

Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan appeared on Vinyl Schminyl for an hour long interview. Here are some quick notes:

-Talks Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Rush, Pink Floyd. Says Pink Floyd and The Beatles are his favorite bands at this point of his life. Pink Floyd is the soundtrack of his ‘existential crisis.’  The Beatles were the first band he ever listened to.  “A Day In The Life” and “Strawbery Fields” are two of his favorite Beatles songs.

-Said two of his bandmates in the original Smashing Pumpkins weren’t great musicians

-Billy said the Pumpkins being from Chicago has been a mixed blessing. He wasn’t appreciated musically when he was younger, but in the 90’s he was a boy wonder, and now in his 40’s they don’t like him anymore there. Billy said, “I really don’t want to wait until I’m 70 to get my due here as an artist, that part has been annoying.”
